Derbyshire Blue John and Lapis Lazuli 9ct Rose Gold Teardrop Shape Pendant

We have for sale a simply stunning 9ct rose gold Blue John Double sided pendant. It has been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England, and features a Hallmark from the Sheffield Assay Office. In a teardrop shape, and set with a beautiful unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John on one side and Lapis Lazuli on the other. Chain not included.  

Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.

Lapis lazuli is a vivid blue gemstone that has been prized for its beauty and rarity for thousands of years. It is a metamorphic rock composed mainly of the mineral lazurite, along with varying amounts of other minerals such as calcite, sodalite, and pyrite. The intense blue colour of lapis lazuli is primarily due to the presence of lazurite.

Lapis lazuli has been attributed with various metaphysical properties and symbolic meanings. It is believed by some to promote inner peace, self-awareness, and clarity of thought, as well as to stimulate creativity and enhance spiritual growth.
